Chidi Udd — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

Short version: We run no servers, ask for no account and collect nothing about you ourselves. The game itself is played entirely on your device. The Android version shows ads, supplied by Google AdMob, and Google receives the data described below in order to show them. The iPhone and iPad version contains no advertising and no advertising code at all.

Who we are

Chidi Udd is published by Akshay Kotish & Co. Questions about this policy, or about your data, can be sent to connect@akshaykotish.com.

What Chidi Udd stores on your device

The game remembers your menu settings — the number of players, which word pack you are playing, the reaction time, the knockout setting and whether the caller's voice is on — and, if you write one, the words in your own custom pack. That is the whole of it. It is written to the device's ordinary app-settings storage, it never leaves your phone or tablet, we cannot read it, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.

What we do not collect

This list is about us, Akshay Kotish & Co. We have no servers and receive nothing from the app. What Google's advertising code collects on Android is set out in the next section.

Advertising, on Android only

The Android version of Chidi Udd shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. A banner appears on the menu and on the scoreboard — never while a round is being played — and a full-screen ad appears occasionally after a game ends.

To select and measure those ads, Google's advertising code collects and processes data from your device, which may include:

This information goes to Google, not to us. We receive only aggregate, anonymous reporting — how many ads were shown and what they earned. We cannot identify you from it. Google's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy, and how Google uses data from apps that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your choices about ads

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any ad is requested, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change that answer later from the same prompt, and the game works exactly the same either way — the ads are the only thing affected.

On any Android device you can also limit this yourself, outside the app: Settings → Google → Ads lets you delete or reset your advertising ID and opt out of personalised advertising. Deleting the advertising ID stops it being available to the app at all.

Network access

The game itself needs no network. Every word, image and sound is generated on the device as you play, and nothing about your play is ever sent anywhere. The Android build requests internet permission for one reason only: fetching the ads described above. The iPhone and iPad build requests no network access at all.

Speech

When the caller's voice is on, the game reads each word aloud using the speech voice built into your operating system — Apple's speech synthesiser on iOS, the text-to-speech engine you already have installed on Android. The word being spoken is one of the game's own words, or one you typed into your own pack. Nothing is recorded, and the microphone is never used.

Children

Chidi Udd is a party game for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the Android version carries advertising, we do not present it as a children's app, and it is not listed in any children's or family programme on the store.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
